Business diagnostic and benchmarking

Whether you are an institution seeking to improve your small business services, a project manager developing a business, a manufacturer, or a service company, business diagnostics are critical for top performance.

    Overview

ITC’s business diagnostic and benchmarking platform hosts a self-assessment tool that can be used by micro, small and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) managers free of charge, and an assisted assessment diagnostic tool that allows business support organizations to conduct in-depth diagnostics of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The platform allows users to make intertemporal comparisons and track the evolution of a company’s performance, determine the effectiveness of an improvement plan, or conduct baseline and end-of-project enterprises assessments. The platform also allows users to benchmark companies against a pool of enterprises from all over the world with similar characteristics.

Undertaking a business diagnostic exercise will allow you to:

    1. Understand the technical difficulties and the level of maturity of local SMEs

    1. Define priorities and plans of action for the implementation of development projects

    1. Determine training and coaching needs

    1. Set baselines, milestones, and guide monitoring and evaluation efforts

    1. Design a robust portfolio of services, and always keep it relevant

    1. Provide tangible evidence to feed policy and regulatory discussions.

Diagnosing your business achieves several important business objectives:

    1. Improves the effectiveness and efficiency of your operations. Making sure that you are doing the right things in the right way is key to defeating the competition.

    1. Builds a more resilient business by providing a consolidated view of all the areas in the business and its interdependencies for the achievement of long-term organizational goals.

    1. Boosts innovation by inviting you to review the way you run your business processes and the way you organize the business’ operations.

    1. Motivates employees and aligns internal efforts by identifying areas for improvement.
